My buddy Jim and I just had a bunch of BR figures dumped in our laps from one of those freakishly lucky flea market finds. thanks, Mark!

history: I have always thought that "true 25mm" was the ideal and only scale for TSATF Colonial gaming. That is mainly because the bulk of my figures are Ral PArtha. grin
Anyway, Minifigs, Hinchliffe, Falcon, and quite a few relic OOP ranges that exist only in our fever dreams.

The majority of the figure find are Frontier Miniatures. I already had a bunch of their Pathans. But I was blown away by just how gosh darned wonderful these Frontier Boxer figures are. Perfect size, great detail. Plus many of the halberdiers have a choice of weird and wonderful polearms.

It's a pity that someone is just sitting on the molds, like Aesop's dog in the manger. Someone who wins PowerBall shouild make someone an offer they can't refuse.

I have high hopes of the Armies in Plastic 1:32 Boxers – the ideal scale for close up street fighting games.

I don't have any of these, but I always liked the look of them.

Falcon Miniatures in 25mm.

To properly defend your Legation you need Fabulous Fighting Falcons. Accept no substitutes…

Now if Keith would just listen to Frank and get on with it, we could enjoy them again.

One used to be able to order the Boxer Rebellion Frontier figures from here

wargame51.tripod.com/25br.htm – though my understanding is used to take a while to hear on it

Old Glory 15's still have a great range for Boxers.

A second for Falcon Miniatures, a shame they are difficult to obtain.

Back in the 1980s, 25mm was standard and most companies made an attempt to keep the comparison with other companies pretty solid.

I remember taking the Falcon USA Colonial Germans to some shows in Texas. The sales were poor because the Germans were regards then as too big when comparing to other companies!!

When comparing to 28mm they are now regarded as 25mm and not too large. Times have changed.

In regards to Frontier, I was talking to some of the people involved with the company in the past. I had expressed an interest each time. When the last two owners bought the company, there was a reported 100 moulds that had never been vented (ie used). I have often wondered what treasures were in those moulds?

Rudy, why would anyone want to spend the money to be "owners", if not to make money off having them in production?

My friend Mark bought a ton of them at a flea market. Jim and I had given up on ever getting these splendid figures again. Pure luck!
It saddens me that these are not on the market.

"100 molds"? Sigh…

Red Wing Boxer episode figures were quite nice, but on the large side in their day. Iron Brigade made some good ones too, especially the pike from a pole with sword tied to it. Their gingle set was good. The original Mini Fig boxer range was well done too, but too many Boxer poses with rifles. I have quite a few of the original Frontier figures and they were state of the art back then. Same for Falcon range. Lynn Bodin made a few figures that were good, especially his artillery crew figs.

Currently, Old Glory range will do well. Not too big to fit in with the older ranges, in different units.

I'll second Old Glory. Have a fair few packs and they're perfect for the hordes of Boxers. For the Europeans I would be tempted to look elsewhere…

Stan Johanson's 20mm Boxers. I own the lot. God's own scale :)

Mine are all Old Glory with a sprinkling of Foundry Chinese pirates – maybe not the best on a per figure basis, but they paint up nice as a horde

I am going to offer my endorsement Old Glory 25mm range as well. They offer their Boxer Rebellion figures in packages of 30 infantry with 15 different poses. That makes for some very interesting units on the table. I've used the Russians for my WW1 Eastern Front scenarios as well.

Stan Johansen is a man among men. A good and true gentleman.

I'd love to buy his figures, if I didn't already have a lot of Falcons and others in 25mm.

And I still might just.

If the period is worth doing, it's worth doing in at least three scales.

Anybody have some of the 1990's Johansen 25mm Boxer figures? They were a bit too large back then, but would fit well now.
