I have alot of stifles, but I never stifle anyone.

I have been trying to stay out of the TMP controversies lately and just talk small talk or just wargaming.

it would be nice to know who stifles you and what posts they were reading of yours at the time.

otherwise it is a bit hard to work out what behaviour you need to change

Anyone know what Keraunos said? grin

(only joking … actually I agree …)…

I have been trying to stay out of the TMP controversies lately and just talk small talk or just wargaming.

I sometime think people post on TMP the way the retiarius was supposed to fight in the arena …

They just leave the net lying in front and then prod and goad you till you move forward … no sooner do you make any kind of response than 'whip' … and you're tangled in the net again.

Even when you see the net out in front it is still difficult to resist the prods and goads …

Stifling is a sign of immaturity and weakness, akin to poking your fingers in your ears and shouting "Lalala I can't hear you!"

"Stifling is a sign of immaturity and weakness, akin to poking your fingers in your ears and shouting "Lalala I can't hear you!""

I was waiting for this kind of statement. As I have said before in similar threads its pretty funny that some here equate using the button with being "immature","thin skinned"," feelings easily hurt",Ect. Or as a sign of "weakness". Some use the button so to no longer have to see some of the actions and rudeness that our fellow posters commit here. And some can become quite nasty. Some wear it as a sign of pride that they have never used it or that they have received one. Well kudos and good for them. But I like others here could not care less if I receive one or if I give one. Nor if its a sign of "weakness" or "immaturity". Its none of their business. Robert Robert

The "nastiness" on internet forums is pretty lame compared to the nastiness in the real world. If you choose not to deal with it, or ignore it in whatever fashion suits you, that's fine by me. Perhaps I should have stated instead that "I would consider any temptation on my own part to stifle a sign of immaturity and weakness." If you don't view your own stifles in that way, that's fine by me too. The fact that we disagree on this does not mean that one of us is right and the other is wrong.

Don't believe in it, so I don't do it.

What he says.
