While the first one isn't CW historical it is still interesting
1832 Battle of the Bad Axe River: Zachary Taylor inflicts a crushing defeat on the Sauk & Fox in Illinois 1865 Cdr James Waddell of the CSS 'Shenandoah' learns that the war is over from the British bark 'Barracouta' in the Pacific, and decides to surrender in England 1956 Albert Henry Woolson, Drummer Boy, 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery, last verifiable veteran of the Civil War, at 109 – He was also a G.A.R. member – RIP |
