Anyone seen a map on line that could be used for an ECW camapign? I'm thinking area or location movement. So one showing counties or county capitials would be perfect. Have counties changed much since the 1640's btw? |

The British Civil Wars, Commonwealth and Protectorate 1638-60 site has some nice maps (if smallish) that could be useful. Most of them are on the individual pages for specific campaigns and battles, so I would start here as a directory: link Here is an example of what you can find there:
Hope that helps. Cheers, Jonathan inevitablespark.blogspot.com |

Try the Perfect Captain's web site. Their campaign module is very good for creating a campaign map. Also, there is a decent campaign (with map) in the "1644" rule book. |

The Pike and Shot Society used to sell a ECW campaign game (Mid 80's) that had a A3 size map of Britain in it which would have been perfect. If I could find it(everything in storage due to house move in next 6 months) I'd send you a copy. I think the game was by the chap you wrote about board gaming in Military Modelling magazine |

That rings a bell, it was 'The King's War' by Charles Vasey. Originally published in glorious black-and-white by the Pike and Shot Soc but later sold in colour by 'Clash of Arms games'. See here link I picked up a set from Dave at Caliver many years ago with the intention of using it as a battle generator for an ECW campaign but never got around to it. |
