The link above has been disabled, but I was fortunate to visit the battlefield in 1994. I was able to visit the tiny museum, and see Poniatowski's saddle and sword. It was hard to see much, as the battlefield is so large. Still, I wouldn't trade that trip for the world!

Phew, you do have to be quick these days! I wonder what the problem was? Was there money being made in offering it to public view?

At the time, the museum was free to all. Still, the countryside was still unwinding from years under the Russian yoke, and things were in a great state of disrepair. I can only hope it got better.
