So I just found this company Puppets War makes really neat Sci-Fi Egyptian heads which could be used to convert some really nice Jaffa with the right bodies. link I'm actually considering putting them on Dark Eldar bodies though, even though it wouldn't be a good Stargate match, I feel they would work well in their own style. |

Not sure how they'd look on spindly eldar bodies. They're meant as Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons marine heads, so are made to fit beefy marine torsos. |

Well I bought a bunch, so I'll try a few bodies until I figure out what works. Hopefully they'll be alright. I've been trying to find some sort of reference for their head sizes, but not having a lot of luck. |

Whenever a bits manufacturer making stuff to fit "28mm heroic scale infantry" like that produces animal style helmets at all, or for that matter heads with that rounded bottom to fit to the model, just assume they are made to fit marines
because there is a 99.99% chance they were intended to help represent marines from somewhere between the Unification of Terra, the Great Crusades and the end of the Horus Heresy. |

I figured they are meant for Space Marines, but I figure I'll get them and see what I can do with them as they look really nice. I'll be sure to post my results with them. |

If your intent is to make Jaffa, then a Space Marine body is all wrong. What about going to a figure in chain mail, maybe a Britonian or a Historical fig like Heavy Norman/Saxon infantry? I have a bunch of conversions I did on D&D fantasy figs with armored bodies. I added sculpted heads from Miliput. I think the same could be done by swapping heads with a figure that already has the Jaffa "look".

I have no intents of mounting them onto Space Marines, as I stated I am thinking Dark Eldar. While I will be using them as Jaffa, I am going my own way with them as I feel that I'll be happier that way, if I decided to go with the normal Jaffa appearance I'd be ordering some Asar Spearmen from Crocodile games and beheading them. |

Sorry, Glenn. I should have read the first suggestion about Space Marines as just a reference about scale. Of course you should please yourself with whatever fits your game concepts. I have used the Ansars, and good old Egyptian figs from Black Tree to make "movie" Jaffa. I want to use Dark Eldar to make Wraith lieutenants for Atlantis scenarios. I have a bunch of the old Shieldwall Jaffa that I love. I understand that these are available again. Good news! I also have a bunch of figs from Shadowforge that I use as female Jaffa. They make figs with Jackal and Hawk-headed Egyptians. |

I have the MJ Figures Jaffa, to be honest, I hate them, the sculpts are really rough, they are just so meh. I have considered the Shadowforge figures actually, they look really cool. Anyways, I'll be putting up some pics of the heads when they get here with some comparisons to various figures. Hopefully it'll prove helpful to others. |

I just got the heads in the mail from Poland, they are very nicely sized to convert nearly any miniature. For a quick idea of scale, the Apophis head face area is exactly the same size as a guardians recessed facial area. So spot on perfect for fitting Eldar Bodies. Which also means they'll fit any other GW figures perfectly as well as Wargods of Egyptus figures (which are roughly the same size and proportions in my experience) I'll try and get pictures after Gencon. |
