Hey

I love the photos of the dwarves. If I'm not mistaken, they are old glory 15's. I am currently building an Elf army using the OG15 figures. I'm tempted to get either dwarves or lizardmen. How big are the dwarves compared to other companies? Also, what rules will you use for the upcoming "Shorties vs. Scalies" battles?

Cheers

I have some of the OG15s dwarves, plus some from other manufacturers.

IMO, they're on the mid-to large size of the 15mm dwarf scale – bigger than the Essex dwarves I have, but WAY smaller than the Blood Dawn range Magister Militum sells (which should be called 20mm, or even old school 25mm…).

I just got a couple packs of Copplestone's new 15mm dwarves, too, and they scale well with the OG15s – a bit bulkier in build, but same height to the eyes and very similar head and hand sizes. Pricy, but absolutely beautiful castings!

Noelvh – very nice work on your figs. Also, I like the light box, it works great for such a simple design!

Hmm, that's actually bad news. I was thinking about trying out the Copplestones, but if they scale well with the OG/Black Raven figs they won't look right next to all my other dwarves! [sigh] The search for the perfect bearded ones continues . . .

Spudeus – No way to hand-wave them in?

Different tribe maybe? Healthier lifestyle, fresher air in the high mountains? Interbreeding with the human amazons from the next valley over? The Copplestone dwarves look relatively athletic compared to the Black Raven dwarves.

They really are beautiful and worthy of a little handwavium, IMO.

Agreed – from the pics they look like convict dwarves that do nothing all day but bicep curls! And in fact, I've always thought of dwarves as nearly as tall as men, but a lot broader/thicker.

Maybe I'll try the command pack first, as a preliminary handwavium/suspension of disbelievium alloy. . .idea
