I'm doing up some French commandos from No. 10 commando (warlord 28s) who kept their French Navy rank insignia.

I'm trying piece together how that would convert to my platoon. My research may be way off here, so can anyone happen to confirm:

Corporal: red and white ribbon between 3rd and 4th button

Sargent: black shoulder boards with two red chevrons on the outside ends

Lieutenant: black shoulder boards with perhaps two gold stripes?

Thanks very much for any help.

Hi

In the French Navy, the ranks of corporal, sergeant and lieutenant did not exist. Shoulder board color is Navy blue not black.
Caporal= Quartier Maitre
sergent= Second maitre
Lieutenant= Enseigne de Vaisseau.

Regarding the 10 CDo
Quartier maitre: two red stripes on the lapel on the front of battle dress.
Second maitre: two V golden yellow stripes on a navy blue removable shoulder board.
Enseigne de Vaisseau: two strips of gold navy blue removable shoulder board.

Many thanks. I was on the right track at least!
