Like the OP in this TMP link I have a ton of old single pose GW archers. I have a hankering for painting them up, but having 0 medieval armies I'm hoping to make them as generic as possible until I decide on what period to start collecting. I believe they can be used for early HYW, but can they be used for earlier conflicts? Any bits of gear or clothing that need to be removed that would be anachronistic in the 11th and 12th centuries for example? |

Most of my English longbow are GW "Bretonian". Some of the helmets are too late for 11th and 12th centuries

You can use them for the army of grand fenwick in the cold war. :) |

I have a bunch of Perry sculpted metals from GW that I am saving for just this reason. I have pretty much abandoned 28mm for the time being but felt that I could always double Bretonians for Warhammer and historicals as you state. I even have a lovely all metal GW mounted knight that is way OOP that I am saving too (no plastic horse!) |

I use them to fill the ranks of my French chicken archers, but I'm slowly replacing them with Front Rank and Crusader archers. |
