If a miniatures company is going to have a sale, which is the best month to have it? |

I'd say not in April, at least in the USA, since a lot of people have to pony up cash to Uncle Sam, so probably have less disposable income then. Other than that, not really sure. I would suggest at least a couple week's notice of the sale though, in advance, and/or duration, so people don't miss out on it. |

I would say April for those of us that get a tax return in the U.S. |

August and January. That's when I have birthday and Christmas cash to spend. |

January has always done well for me. However, so did this June. |

Just before you have to have cash to settle up your tax bill. x42 Edit:- From the sellers point of view. |

We did extremely well with our July sale for the anniversary of the Omni-Stand release. That will probably be a yearly event now. I'm considering February next year as well. I don't have any major Cons to do to and that is when I start to see the tax money. We saw a higher then usual amount of Fabric Mats sold and very large Omni-Stand orders. These are bigger ticket items that people have been saving up for. Pre-Christmas isn't really a good idea for this industry. Most gamers don't have friends and family that understand their needs and purchase gifts for them. Things tend to slow down because most disposable income is going towards the holiday expenses. A post Gen-Con event might be worth it. I usually see an uptake in orders after the big events. Gamers see other people with our products and awareness is increased. I hope to make it to Gen con next year. |

I'd spotted this thread over the weekend, but didn't really have a comment, other than December's the only really bad month. However, I came back to it now because it seems like since late June onwards there has a crazy number of sales and I'm overloaded. I haven't noticed this in previous Julys. If some of the sales were through the fall, I'd be all over them, but I've hit the wall on spending for the next month or so. |
