Whoa! Very nicely done: link This discovery is what happens when one is *not* looking for the specific subject found
As someone whose first miniature wargame experience was playing Starguard! 3rd edition so long ago, this was a real fun blast from the past! Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net

Very cool! Leland, I just recently dug out all the Starguard models I bought off you at shows when I lived in the Bay Area (Federation Armory, wasn't it?). I painted up some old Terran Marines and have to say, it was a real joy and a nice break from all the complex stuff available today. Have to dig out the rules
. P.S. Wish I could get more of those marines. :^( |

nudspinspittle, Federation Armory?! Yikes!! The traumatic memories!!! Reviresco is still John McEwan Himself still casting Starguard after all these years! The Terran Marines are still available in the Mk. II helmets. So are all the rest! I *may* be at Celesticon and/or DunDraCon this year running something, probably Silent Death. I *may* run a game of Starguard, or at least brings some troops and my copy of the old 3rd edition rules for old time's sake (plus keep the current edition handy for those who prefer percentile dice over the old 2D6 method!). Wow! Glad to hear I'm not the only "Old Grognard" still enjoying Starguard! in all of its classic glory! Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net

Unfortunately, I want the Mk I helmets, which are not available for obvious reasons. Oh well. But I have been looking at the Reviresco site (thanks, Rubber Suit Theatre!) and may bite sometime soon. Haven't been to a con back home since I left in '99, but I'm spoiled now by the HMGS-East cons. :^) |
