Revell Germany has reintroduced some 1/144 planes under the label Micro Wings. They include decals and a display base so the value and utility for wargamers is outstanding. link Now I'm thinking if Revell has discover the wargames market and will follow suit like Zvezda with vehicles in scale 1/100 :) |

I don't think they make them anymore, but Airfix minikits are 1/100 and very nice. |

Nice! I agree, their usefulness and cheapness make them a real boon. Now I'd wish they made interwar planes

Please, please, please Revell could you do some simple 1/144 WW1 planes in the Micro Wings series. At £1.99 GBP they would sell stacks of them to Wings of War/Glory fans since Ares games don't seem to be able to supply the demand and Shapeways aren't cheap or actually very consistent quality. Let's all email Revell and ask. |

These are old molds going back into production. They're welcome, but there's nothing new here. I think Revell may have some more old 1/144 WWII aircraft molds stashed away in a warehouse, mayhe a Hellcat and a P-39Q that I can thing of

Yep, this is the old "Mini Series" from the '70s – a welcome return, but not a new range and the investment that means. They're good news for WW2 fans, especially if they still have all of the moulds and intend to work up the whole range: 1 Kawanishi N1K2J 'Shiden-Kai' 2 Mitsubishi A6M2 Type 21 'Zero' 3 Mitsubishi J2M3 'Raiden' 4 Nakajima C6N2 'Myrt' 5 Nakajima Hayabusa Ki-43 6 Nakajima Shoki Ki-44 7 Kawasaki Hien Ki-61 8 Nakajima Hayate Ki-84 Can't find what 9 to 12 were offhand. 13 Spitfire Mk.1 14 Hurricane Mk.1 15 Hawker Typhoon Mk.1B 16 Hawker Tempest Mk.V 17 Messerschmitt Bf.109E 18 Focke Wulf Fw.190A 19 Junkers Ju.87B Stuka 20 Messerschmitt Me.262A 21 NA P-51B Mustang 22 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt 23 F4U-1 Corsair 24 F6F-3 Hellcat 25 Curtiss P-40E Warhawk 26 F4F-4 Wildcat 27 SBD-5 Dauntless 28 Bell P-39Q Airacobra If it's not on that list, I wouldn't get excited though, sorry Tim – it's definitely an exercise in blowing the dust off of old moulds, not new tooling. |

Dom, shame. I know this is a one day never, but I spoke to Will Townsend (Mr PSC) last year and asked "what about 1/144 WW1 planes, 5 to a box like the 15mm tanks?" and his response was, "certainly not now but I'm a big Wings of War fan and it's a nice idea

Gotta say I'd be all over those like a rash. Wearing my decal making hat it'd be pretty bloody exciting too; labour-intensive WWI stuff would suddenly look like just possibly selling enough sheets to be worth the time investment. We can dream

Yes we can dream but also we can email PSC
now they are in their stride they could easily produce say an SE5a and a DVa box (one of each) I'm sure they'd sell tons of them. The struts could be done as one piece for each wing, it actually wouldn't take many parts to make up the average scout. The Fokker fighters would all be easy as well. 2 f/l parts, inc tail slid, cowel or radiator, tailplane, one, two or three wings. Typically three strut pieces (if done in linked pairs). Perhaps three pieces for the under cart. Prop, guns and pilot. At £15.00 GBP for a box of five– total no brainer and he could seriously take on Ares at their own game especially if he made allowance for the peg to locate the model WoW stands. |

I'm another one interested in interwar/early WW2 stuff, or WW2 not-the-usual-suspects. Unfortunately a lot of my inter war stuff I have filled with Furuta choco eggs (mustang, thunderbolt and corsair are all close enough for my gaming). Still the spitfire, hurricane and focke wulf will be welcome. |

God how much of my teenage spending money went on those kits? Happy days. Fatman |

Dom, 9 through 12 are: 09 Zero type 21 10 Raiden 11 Shiden-Kai 12 Saiun However, you have listed the Zero Type-21 as number 02, but 02 is actually the Type 99 Kanbaku. There are a couple of others misplaced in the list above. The full list is: 01 Nakajima B5N 97-Kanko 02 Aichi D3A 99-kanbaku 03 Yokosuka D4Y Suisei 04 Kawanishi N1K Shiden 05 Nakajima Hayabusa Ki-43 06 Nakajima Shoki Ki-44 07 Kawasaki Hien Ki-61 08 Nakajima Hayate Ki-84 09 Mitsubishi A6M Zero type 21 10 Mitsubishi J2M Raiden 11 Kawanishi N1K Shiden-Kai 12 Nakajima C6N Saiun 13 Spitfire Mk.1 14 Hurricane Mk.1 15 Hawker Typhoon Mk.1B 16 Hawker Tempest Mk.V 17 Messerschmitt Bf.109E 18 Focke Wulf Fw.190A 19 Junkers Ju.87B Stuka 20 Messerschmitt Me.262A 21 NA P-51B Mustang 22 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt 23 F4U-1 Corsair 24 F6F-3 Hellcat 25 Curtiss P-40E Warhawk 26 F4F-4 Wildcat 27 SBD-5 Dauntless 28 Bell P-39Q Airacobra I think there were only the 28 different kits. Regardless, just wish Revell would re-issue all of them at once instead of doing them peace-meal. Hope this helps. |
