Well, somebody's got to say it, so here goes: I for one welcome our new robotic masters. There, that's taken care of. |

Go for it ! More and more robotic devises will be used for military purposes. But you'll always need well trained troops
the ultimate weapon
Regardless of the Terminator movies

I imagine there'll be another large flap, if these get hijacked too. |

By insurgents or by students? |

Umm, it isn't robotic – it is "unmanned" in that no one actually sits inside. It is still piloted by a human sitting in a remote location. When the UAV's are fully autonomous, THEN we have problems. |

Should have been doing this from the start. Smart move. VR James Mattes |

The K series retains a fully functional cockpit and may be flown by a human pilot if needed but so far so good ..Mikey |

When the robot overlords show up, can I be Bender? He still drinks beer and smokes. I want to be Bender!

No Agenda postulated six months ago the FAA Air Traffic control upgrade was to allow more bandwidth for unmanned cargo flights in the US. |

Something else to add to the build list

Ah, remotely-piloted K-Max. Roughly speaking, take a Cobra, minus all the armor and weapons systems, and give it the 'eggbeater' rotor system Kaman likes. it's got some serious sling-lift capability for how dinky a helo it is! |
GeoffQRF | 26 Jul 2012 5:53 a.m. PST |
It can lift more than its own weight. How many do you want in 15mm Lion? |

Unmanned or AI
it keeps troops out of the danger of being shot at

I like the idea

Sorry, Geoff, none right now. Not doing USMC in Afghanistan, though I might abuse one for scifi. I actually want a Fire Scout first! |

Yup, that's the beast. RQ8 Fire Scout. |

Just hope the enemy does not hack into the controls like they did the un-manned recon plane over Iran several months ago. |

Unlikely
but there always is a small possibility
However the Taliban are not usually all that tech savvy
They may need help from the Persians
