Yes, particularly in the Mk IV version (the version you've got there is a Mk II), which stayed in service with the Indian Army until the 1970s:
The Mk III was apparently a roofed-over Mk II. I think this might be one:
The Mk IV was apparently a modified Mk I, but I've not seen a picture of the Mk I. It was descended from the Guy Wheeled Carrier:

Such a cool looking vehicle (well, the Mk II anyway). Doug |

Yeah, I might be forced to start a WW2 Indian army just to field a few! |

The Australians also used a regiment's-worth of Mk IIs in Malaya. 81 West African Recce Regiment also seems to have used the odd India Pattern Carrier in Burma. Other Commonwealth units also used them as artillery OPs in North Africa and Italy. |

According to an article in a recent Military Modelling the very similar NZ built wheeled carrier saw service in Korea in a similar role. |

This one of those pieces of kit that I cannot find in 1/35. Given the massive market in 1/35 Armour, this surprises me, but, given the 'panzer-porn' nature of AFV modelling, maybe not! That said, however, there is no 21st Panzer Unic 107 halftrack in plastic either, now THAT amazes me. John |

Be amazed no more link now, if only Armourfast or Pegasus made an affordable quick build version

I repeat, 'This one of those pieces of kit that I cannot find in 1/35' Still amazed, sadly John |

John – there is a single resin kit for the IPC in 1/35. Details are in MM. It's not cheap! |

R, Other Commonwealth units also used them as artillery OPs in North Africa and Italy. Any idea who? Though I will defo do one for Burma now

Cheers Etranger, 'Details are in MM' er, MM? I wonder if there would be an expensive resin kit, with about a million parts! tempted to do an Indian company for Crossfire in 1/35, these would theme it really nicely. John |

Piers, no idea sorry. Just vague references to them being used by the RA. The RA units belonging to the four Indian divisions in the Med (4th, 5th, 8th & 10th) would be my guess. |

Oh yeah, I forgot that the Recce Troop of the 14th/20th Hussars also used Mk II Carriers in Persia. The Dutch also apparently used them in Indonesia – a mixture of Mk II Carriers recaptured from the Japanese and Mk IV Carriers newly-issued to Dutch units transiting through and training/equipping in India. |

John, Military Modelling magazine. It's the current issue in Oz, so probably the April or May 2012 issue. |
