Further to an earlier topic

I asked Airfix for permission to post scans of the booklet included in this game and they have said yes. It is in three sections and they are here:

Airfix have also indicated they may consider re-releasing the game in 2015 for the bicentenary.

Roll on 2015 I say !

I never had this – it turns up occassionaly on Ebay but can be quite pricey.

I do recall seeing it in Selfridge's toy department (so that must have been as part of a visit to see Father Christmas !) – they had a small stack of the games, and one open on display, with the map laid out and the figures and measuring devices as if in mid-game.

Never forgotten it. It wasn't available for long IIRC.

That auction isn't the same thing – it's the Waterloo Assualt Set (in fact, it's the reissue !).

This originally came out ~1976 and was available for a couple of years. it became very collectable because of the sprue of 2 wagons, and the battlefield items – Airfix never released these anywhere else.

That auction is for the rerelease of ~2010, which many people bought just to get that elusive sprue.

I manfully resisited – I already had that sprue, and had assembled and painted the wagons (thereby adding to the world shortage of pristine condition sprues !).

Although I was tempted because it's originl price – for that many figures and the farmhouse model – was good, and the baseboards were a new addition to the set

To add to the confusion the rules do have, on their back page, an advert for the assault set .

Amazing. It must have been great to buy, or receive, this set back in the day.
