Easy, this one. Pre- Columbus Atlantic crossing by Irish monks landed primarily in southern part of the N. American land mass. They brought back barbecue. Thus, beer consumption rose. End of story. Joe Collins |

Thanks for the information. Oddly the English seemed to be wine drinkers in the 100 yrs war period. A similar study would be interesting. |
