If I were to build a French Chasseurs de Afrique regiment(s)in 28mm for a Crimean army which would be better to start as a base for conversions – Pery's Carlist French Lancers (early or later uniform) or the Mirliton Piedmontese Light Cavalry?

Any observations or suggestions are welcomed – very much.

You can buy them from foundry, with tchako in the FPW range and with kepi in the Maximilian range. With havelock from old glory in the sons of the desert range.
