With thanks to Alan over at the Airfix Tribute Forum, there is a post about this game with pictures of the box, mat, game equipment (calipers and time clock), figures and rule book on Vintage Wargaming here: link This may be of interest to those of a certain age, either those who owned it, or those who never did but always wanted to. |

I had the Airfix Napoleonic figures but not this game. I would have loved it! I loved the Atlantic games with their figures. A friend had El Alamein and I think I either had Normandy or Battle of the Bulge? Great figures! Plastics lead me indirectly to wargaming with figures. A chance stop at the Bunker in Copperas Cove actually lead to me really getting into miniature wargaming though. |

Never owned that one, although it looks like Airfix finally found a way to make their horses stand up:) Ironic that the biggest feature on the box art is the charging Scots Greys – a set never made by Airfix But I did get the wonderful Little Big Horn for Christmas one year and was a very happy camper! IIRC the figures were about 40mm tall though. link Later on I spent many hours playing Waddingtons 'Campaign' YouTube link I also bought the Charge of the Light Brigade later on and replaced the uninspiring 'pawns' with Esci figures and conversions. |

I picked up a set relatively cheaply on ebay last year. The vast majority of the figures had broken off their bases, but that was not of great concern as I plan to replace them – either with figures from the 1980@s RISK set, or with more accurate 10mm figures, on thinner, less obtrusive bases, as the single figures on pediments never appealed to me (perhaps why I never bought it originally?) but the simple rules do. |
