Now, we have seen multi-legged walkers for humanoids mirroring everything from spiders to scorpions, cats, rhinos, and all of Noah's passengers, but what about aliens who are not humanoid to begin with? Humanoid aliens mimic other body forms in their tech to gain advantages that their humanoid form doesn't provide them, so I assume that other aliens might use the same reasoning. As an example, a spherical alien with radia tentacles and no legs (undulating movement), might build a machine with legs to provide it with movement it's anatomy does not. A multi-limbed alien, might build a machine with fewer limbs to simplify its movement system or provide clearer range or motion for its weapon systems. A crawling, arthropod alien with six legs might adapt a bipedal jumping chassis to allow for greater mobility. -Eli |

Hover boards would be better. Or they might go with squirrel cages that they can run inside of, if they are agoraphobic aliens. |

Honestly I expect the differences between species' vehicles will have more to do with the environment they're from
I never liked the humans with treads, wheels, and bipedal mechs, insectoids with many legged vehicles, feline/canines with four legged mechs, etc

I like these series of thought processes you're having Eli, I fell many designers and sculptors just don't bother to think through the logic of certain forms, they just copy what they've already seen. |
