I know Front Rank makes some 28mm Spanish Guerrillas, but I was wondering if some of the packs from Perry's Carlist War range would work as well? I'm looking to use these in skirmish games along the lines of the Sharpe TV series. link

I don't know. I am totally new to the Peninsula Campaign, and my knowledge of Napoleonics in general is a bit slim (I've focused mainly on the Prussians until this past weekend.) I guessed they would work, but I'm not sure about the hats the bottom figures are wearing. Were those in vogue 25 years prior? Not I'm not a rivit counter, but I might as well be as close as possible. :-) |

I wouldn't use the fellows sporting the snappy blue berets, but the rest are OK. I've considered using them myself for Napoleonic Spanish Militia / Guerrillas. |

I looked at these and had the same thought. I see no problem with using them for the "Spanish Ulcer". Just do it! LOL |

why not , I use mine as orcs.. Geez, that's a bit of a stretch. Elves or rather tall hobbits could work though,

The use of the beret as headgear in northern Spain predates Napoleonic times, so I wouldn't hesitate to use them also. Rick |

Thanks, Rick. See, I did not know that! |

Yes, ditto what trailape says. Most of them are OK. I use them in units with my Front Rank Guerrillas. |

As well as the above, might I also suggest the excellent offerings from Brigade Games: link Very Sharpe indeed. |

They would work perfect. The berets should be filed to be changed with other hats or to represent peasant's berets (smaller, black and tighter to the head). |

Just starting the Peninsular myself. I wouldn't use the fellows sporting the snappy blue berets, but the rest are OK. Head swap do the trick if one likes the poses on these particular guys?

I have been toying with the idea of gaming the peninsula, and if I decide to do so I certainly plan to throw Perry's Carlist figs into the mix. They also make a pack (or two) with a couple of priests, which I consider a must for the period. |

I too have been strangely attracted to the Perry Carlist marching militia types – I was wondering, does anyone know how they would mix with the Capitan Miniatures 1808 Spanish? I was thinking these figures would work for the cadre while the Perry figures provided the rank and file. Also two flagbearers or one (like CPBelt I'm pretty ignorant about Spanish troops in the Peninsula)? |

Absolutelly YES! And specially the priest. The ones with berett are usefull for northern theater. The other (varied headgear) can be used everywhere. I really love thos with the barretina, the typical catalan headgear (the red or violet whool cap). I have the perry ones and the brigade games. They mix really well. In addition, I have some eagle ones that are a little bit thinner but for me work really ok. Take a look at them here link |
