I was always fond of the US T-28 superheavy tank. This was to be the American answer to the German Maus (which also belongs on the list, come to think of it). At 100 tons (90.7 metric tons) it was almost 50% heavier than the M-1 Abrams and it was 15 feet (4.5 meters) wide. Imagine shipping something like that to Europe and trying to drive down European roads. Only two were ever built. |
