With Nashcon behind us , the mid-Tennessee regulars gathered at Uncle Bob's mancave for another round of wargames. This time Bob refused to tell what the game would be. We entered the room to see the snow adorned table. Germans engaging Americans from three sides. It could only be Bastogne. In 28mm no less ! HERE IS THE LINK TO SLIDE SHOW : link The scenario was an early-battle American holding action. A company of combat engineers with a platoon of tanks. The idea was to stall the Germans –shell them – and then pull back to the main defensive line. We used Tank Charts. A dandy set of rules. The Germans lost several half tracks. Three tanks lost their tracks and turned into pill boxes. The Americans lost a tank. Unfortunately the American firepower was not enough to stop the German infantry who were in the process of overrunning the town. The Americans retreated in good order under cover of fog and smoke from the burning buildings. A clear German victory. This was a wonderful game. The figures and terrain were first-rate fantastic. Well done. After the game we repaired to the Pizza Parlor to plot the game for next month.

Nice pics. Where did your buildings come from? I'm particularly interested in the church and the 4 adjacent tower-like buildings near the middle of the town. Thanks. |
