I usually get a couple of flyovers a year from the Lanc at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum just outside Hamilton, ON; the pilot lives in town and likes to buzz local war memorial sites. I can tell it's coming for about 30 seconds before I see it- there's nothing like the sound of 4 Merlins!

Had a C-47 flyover the other day.

I remember when I was at Art College we were all in the canteen when we were all drawn outside by the sound of four Shackleton's going over in formation, a load of emo teens absolutely awestruck by the sound of these fantastic planes.

To all the pilots and crew past and present, we salute you.
