This is a really great article comparing drawings and photos in the earliest war reporting circa 1850. I never thought about some of the things mentioned like the time delay and that photographs had to be reproduced by an engraving in newspapers. Also this is a German publication. But this is all a good English translation albeit they got photos of bodies in WW2 confused with bodies in ACW. I never knew that the French had press censorship and the British did not. This is a wonderful thought provoking piece. Well done. All good.
