I just found a really nice pulp type book. It's 'Operation Red Jericho' by Joshua Mowll. It is a children's book aimed at middle school children. Where it excels is all of the charts , maps and plans that fold out of the book. It is about 2 children and their adventures with their sea fairing Uncle in the seas of Southeast Asia in 1920. Because it is a middle school book, it reads quickly. Very fast action, great 1920's era charachters and really nice Warlord type villans. A great quick read and great background for pulp adventures. The ship plans for a British Q-Ship are extremely handy. There are two more books in the series. Highly recomended. |
