Looks like the "pulp era" will be well represented around Labor Day this year. "Gangster Squad" trailer on youtube: YouTube link and if Shia LeBeouf doesn't screw it up, "Lawless" trailer on youtube: YouTube link At least Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy are in it. |

Yeah. I am also waiting for Matewan. Its about the biggest armed conflict in the US since the Civil War, and the original Red Necks. You'll never believe who they were. Edit: It was out after all. Netflix promises to get it some day. I've had it in my Que since last summer, when I visited the battlefield. Artisan discontinued it, but I got a new copy cheap on eBay. |

"Matewan" looks interesting. Sayles also wrote "The Lady in Red" which is a historically inaccurate crazy/fun "pulp era" gangster flick about John Dillinger.. I might watch it tonight. (-: |
