"Areas u used to be passionate about and now...meh" Topic

Trying to track if there are any trends in areas people have moved away from gaming over the years.

I haseberal areas like Ancients where my interest ebbs and flows but the one topic that I used to be dedicated to and have now lost all gaming interest in is WWII !

Anything like that for you?

Ancients and back of beyond, although I still enjoy reading about both!

WWII was one of my main periods and it's been on the backbench for a long, long time …

I may have given up on Warhammer Fantasy I dislike the latest version and I simply do not play it anymore. My interest have been drawn toward historical and VSF gaming. Right now I am taking a hard look at my current collection of minis and trying to decide what will really keep my attention and will find rewarding for many years to come.

D&D, roleplaying in general. Does reenacting count? If so, then participation in the Society for Creative Anachronisms.

Ancients and Napoleonics.

WW2!

I got into miniatures gaming through WRG Ancients. I doubt I have anything left, beyond a few unsold units or three.
I had HUGE armies, too.

Pulp, Victorian sci-fi, Colonials. Went in big, never happened, now no interest and selling everything.

Ancients..no good rules any more.

Mine are more "fortune's wheel" – here today, gone tomorrow, back in a couple of months. Some things get added, little gets dropped.

15mm Modern, I think perhaps it hits too close to home.
I am getting into Air War Korea, as my next project.

RPGs. I don't have the energy to invest to make it fun.

As a young lad I used to be a big fan of Napoleonics but after two games all Enthusiasm deflated by the opponents .
One was still bickering about a game he played the month before.
Just unlucky with opponents .
Played warhammer instead was not what I was into but much more fun.

That was just too funny kreoseus.

I still like modern but I haven't found any rules I enjoy enough to play it often.

I'm not into Napoleonics at all anymore and haven't been for about 4 or 5 years.

25mm 18th century; AWI, SYW, Frech & Indian, etc. I still have the figures. Too bad, I kind of liked my Austrians.

SciFi, lost interest in that. I don't lose interest in any period, rather, I gain interest in another period and swear to get back to the old one some day…

I sure as hell blamed you, but it didnīt seem to do much good since I was the one doing the laughing. A few hundred miles away, eh? Sounds like paradise! :)

Same with me on the sci-fi end. I just quit for the second time.

I seem to drift back and forth between WW2 and Napoleonics, usually in 10-year cycles. I've recently picked up Napoleonics again, so all my 15mm WW2 will sit and gather dust for a while.

I've had interest in other periods, but they don't really last. ECW, ACW, ancients, 7YW,sci-fi – I've played them, and keep the figures around in case the itch returns, but in the end it seems to all boils down to either WW2 or Napoleonics for me.

Getting back to the original question, I have an on again off again love of WWI aircraft. I painted up a mess of planes and did nothing with them until the bug bit me again three months later.

If I am really lucly, she will see this and not talk to me for a few days. She thinks that that is a punishment……
