"How Important is Winning?" Topic

I agree with Otto,I couldn't care less
I win by being able to participate with friends in a game and the outcome of the match means little to me.That doesnt mean that I won't try to win, its just that when the game is over I leave it on the field.
I'm the guy who frustrates the Power Gamers,you know the type,those who try to make it personal when they have victory on the field ,however, their gloating has no effect on me. Those are the gamers who award me a second victory.

I play to win but seldom manage it. As a frequent loser I play more for the fun of a good game with friends.

I do not enjoy playing against "win at all costs" types, who does? Neither do I enjoy playing against those who cannot make an effort to participate in the game.

I enjoy playing games of strategy with like minded gentlemen warriors. I do not tolerate rules lawyers, gamesmenship, cheaters (we call them fiddle farters cause they always want that extra 1/16 of an inch to ooptimize their shot) nor whinners.

We used to have a couple of guys who – when they lost – would always complain that there was no way to win. I said did you do your best with the hand you were dealt? That is the point. If you want fair and perfectly balanced games, then play checkers. But even then somebody gets to go first!

I also dislike guys who see that they are losing and just want to wrap it up. well he will, then he will and etc etc. I have precious little time to game so I want every drop even when I am getting my clock cleaned!
