I'm talking about these:
I've found that they are great for painting many types of terrain while using acrylics. They are especially useful for walls. They pull/smear the paint across the surface in a non-uniform way that leaves imperfections that are great for wood or concrete walls. My only gripe is they tear fairly easy, a fact that at first is actually useful because it further steps away from the appearance of uniform paint application, but after a while you have to be careful the sponge isn't crumbling into the paint. Anyone else using them? |

I used to, but not any more. |

I use them for painting AFV's and other vehicles – give a spray like result. Also used them for my recent Ultramarines Army and Dystopian wars fleets. Very quick and good results |

I'm going to try scorching them a bit to see if I can get some more durable, but varied, edges -- I'm predicting some interesting results. |

I used to use them for weathering but haven't done anything in ages. I also have the sponge-tip makeup applicators. I've been using these things since the 1970s. I find many interesting modeling tools in the makeup isle. Cutting, shredding, shaping, and so on make for great patterns and shapes. Go for it! |

I use the eye shadow sponges on sticks to do weathering. |
