Which Baccus figures would be the best for this? I saw some round hat AWI militia skirmishing;they could be used for the defenders but what about the Mexicans? Napoleonic French? Here is their site: link |

Napoleonic French will be close but you will be off by about 30 years in uniform design. I know if I were basing off the old Alamo movie, I would probably go with French infantry. But looking on the Internet, this picture is very interesting:
Osprey has some images : link Looks like you will need a mixture of figures to me. I always think of the old John Wayne film but it looks like the uniforms had a great variety than I thought or than is actually displayed at the Alamo diorama itself. Looks like you have a mixture of shako designs and I would guess there was some militia on the Mexican side? Irregular Napoleonics paint up well. Based on your posts, I am not sure you will be happy with them. You might take a look at what Adler has as well as they seem to have a pretty broad line. |
