Did Jaegers (Danish, Prussian and Schleswig) during the First war fight as light infantry in loose formation and were they utilized as both skirmishers and shock troops? I am curious because I am trying to figure out how to best represent them in a wargame. In my rules ofchoice (Neil Thomas 19c Rules), there are options for close, loose and skirmishers. Thanks!

Yes they fought in loose skirmish order. Not shock troops.
The Danish shock weapon was the first machine gun.
