Nice. One tip – I often paint around the edges of the flag to hide where the overlap shows up white from the back of the other side. I try to use a slightly darker shade than the color in that part of the flag.

How are you planning to base your mounted?

Thanks for that tip. I will try that.

I will base my mounted units on bases of the same size as the infantry.

There´s already a post on my blog concerning the Austrian Hussar Regiment Nadásdy. This unit is almost ready for "Maurice", too.

There´s only one more figure left to paint. This will be my next work. But I won´t place another post for them after finishing the unit.

Good work Mike.
Another tip with the French is to use a different gold hat lace for officers/ncos and other ranks. Sometimes, when I can remember to do it, I use a brass for the other ranks and a 'true' whiter gold for the NCOs and officers. The faux gold used for the other ranks must have looked different in reality.

That´s a good tip, too. I often wondered whether the hat laces of the privates had been more yellow and not golden. But brass is a good opportunity. Sounds good.
I like your blog. I often have a look at it and I am always impressed by your output of very good looking units.
