Irrational Number Line Games has posted an Idea of the Week showing some Gundam-style robots that came from a toy store and how you can make this
for about $10 USD (or $20 USD if you count the washers that they are based on
) |

I got a ton of these 10 years back and used 'em in battletech |

Any idea where you can buy them? I'm in the USA. |

You might try Dollar General or Party City in the US. Rinco makes them, so they end up in stores like that. Amazon.com also has them, but the price went up. @ $27 USD for 140 of 'em they're still better than 4 for a dollar. |

Damn, I did not see this post. I can make a huge army easier than the 1/400 models. |

I used to have tons of those little plastic spaceships: they're the perfect size for 28mm drones or 15mm robot gunships. The saucer ones, in particular, would work very well as some kind of Tau-drone variant; they have a "thruster" on the bottom that would make two easy to glue together to make a sensor drone or something. |

The spaceship are about the right size for the tactical scifi games, too. |

Any idea if there is anything similar in the UK? Amazon US doesn't seem to want to ship here

They're made by Rhode Island Novelty Company (RINCO). Maybe try their site direct: rinovelty.com Search "robot"
or probably a dozen other things that companies like this make
