in fact it has been out for a little while.

The journal of the Solo Wargamers Association – Lone Warrior – is as good in its 36th year as it was way back when. Stunning issue this one –

Mike Crane presents a complete game in "Bombs over Europe", a B17 mission over enmey territory. Rules and counters are given, all that's needed is to make the playing board. This I have to try. The write up of an example game is excellent.

Paul Le Long has produced a system for a Solo multui-player ancients tournament" – good stuff this.

Colonials are covered by George Arnold with further information on his campaign. nd also by Kevin White with further tales of Dhunda.

Chris hahn has been experimenting with Black Powder, and finding the results excellent

Jefferey Chorney provides a detaied review of Big Wars, and add some rules for units not covered in the original set.

Marvin Scott is hunting bombing balloons in WWII, and finding it a harder task than he'd imagined.

And there's more…the war of 1812, Napoleonic naval gaming…and more.

Solo multui-player ancients tournament

Trying to wrap my head around this one. If it is multi-player, can you still call it solo? grin

The B-17 game sounds interesting.

Is it similar to the solo boardgame, in that you are just trying to get your bomber to the target and back, and rolling dice randomly for encounters along the way?

Terrement – that would work too ! In this case though the solo player effectively runs the tournament on his own – setting up a series of round robin games using all the armies at his disposal.

Mako11 – I'm not familiar with the solo boardgame B-17, but yes, in effect this is also a boardgame (although you could use miniatures – I probably will) simulating a bombing raid of several bombes and their fighter escort against various encounters (enemy fighters, AA, etc). The game in LW is quite fast play which may differ from the other game.
