Can anyone suggest a good tip(s) for painting lenses? Thanks! |

Reverse shading, as for gems. Blues and dark greys/blacks look generally good: dark background, lighten towards the bottom, better if in a diagonal pattern (ie, for instance, towards 5 o'clock), progressively up to a very light version of the base. Then in the topmost part, where you should have the darkest tone (in this case 11 o'clock then) a small pure white dot to simulate the shine. Matt coat the miniature and then give a layer of gloss varnish to the lens |

I paint the lens mid-blue and use a white or very light blue highlight in a crescent on the top Vanth's method is unquestionably better but sounds like a lot of work! |

I shade them or paint them a light gray. |

Most army glasses are shrouded, less the glint off the lenses gives the position away! |
