A friend showed me an ACW board game showing all the states using hexes, the idea is to win as the cs in 4 years. Anyone know what the game was and where I can find it please? Many thanks M PS it is not the eagle games one it is counter based. |

If someone doesn't answer with what you need here, I believe your can search by period on Boardgame Geek: boardgamegeek.com |

"Civil War" by Victory Games, perhaps? It's a great strategic game. |

Sounds like "Civil War" as Darthfozzywig suggests. It was extemely
challenging
for the Confederate player as you grappled with the same historical challenges – trying to defend a lengthy coastline with finite resources whilst at the same time trying to keep several armies in the field, and create a navy. Can't believe it's the only grand strategy game of the ACW that used hexes, but I can't think of another. |

"For the People" by GMT Games, and "War for the Union" by Clash of Arms. |

A House Divided by Phalanx Games uses movement boxes not hexes. Rather simple game to play and it comes with nice looking counters and hardmounted mapboard. Another hex based game was The Civil War by FGA/RMW. Rather detailed and similar to Civil War by Victory Games. For the People, is a newer game by GMT. |

Well could you be a little more vague? That describes just about every ACW strategic game every made. Your going to need to provide more information. My all time favorite is Victory Games "The Civil War." Have no idea if that is the one your thinking of. Try Nobel Knight Games for out of print games. link link |

As pointed out there have been many strategic level wargames on the Civil War. Giving more details will certainly help pinpoint the title you saw. |
