Some pics of my newly complete SF army. This amy kills 3 birds in one stone for me. I loved Hydra's Retro Raygun stuff and needed an excuse to buy some, I always wanted to have a go at TSATF, and I had a lot of SST bugs left over from dabbling with that game.

It has all come together in this. The humans count as British regulars, the robots as Egyptians etc.

Still have to add a cavalry unit – there's a preview though the links -, then it is back to work on more SST bugs to oppose them.

Reinforcements by post painted most of the figs. I did the easy stuff like robots myself.

Oh wow… much love for the retro snazziness!

That's a great looking force you've got there. Any chance of a battle report?

Whatisitgood4atwork07 Jul 2012 7:05 a.m. PST

Thanks for the support.

Barakvarr, I still have about 80 more SST bugs to paint up as well as the colonial cavalry, and a bit of terrain too before I'm ready for battle. Between work and a young family, I do not get much time for my toys, but bugs are easy to paint and the plan is to be game-ready in a about 3 months.

Beautiful! An excellent mix of minis from different companies that work well together.

Jamesonsafari07 Jul 2012 8:10 a.m. PST

That is freaking brilliant! Well done.

Nice.

Thanks for the close up of the rocket

Perhaps it's my eyes but I can't identify the NCOs in the human units. The officers stand out but not the noncoms

Keep up the good work Whatisitgood4atwork, we're all willing you on.

Whatisitgood4atwork07 Jul 2012 5:12 p.m. PST

Thanks guys.

Dragon, the human NCOs are the same figs as the enlisted men but haves stripes. This photo shows one at rear right.

I originally wanted the NCOs to be personality figures like the officers, but decided enlisted men with stripes made the whole unit look better.

The NC-Ros are gold rather than silver.

Where did you get the rocket?

Whatisitgood4atwork07 Jul 2012 11:03 p.m. PST

I found the rockets in a toy shop. They were branded Toy Story 3 and were full of really terrible candy I threw out.

As I remember they about $HK 60 or about $US8 each. Here are the manufacturers details. I am told they re-release it with a different set of branding every few years.
