Does anyone know of a list of the old 2nd gen Minifigs renaissance range? I believe the codes started with an R followed by the number. I have an old catalog but it seems to list the same codes as they now use. Anyone know when they made the change?

Have you got the PDF of the catalogue that is on Henry Hyde's site: link
This was the last one that they produced and features the codes for the 2nd gen lines.

I've got two of their other catalogues and the 15mm 2nd gen Renaissance lines have always been designated by a number followed by an X (eg 1X Pikeman in morion helmet). Unfortunately they use exactly the same codes for the current 3rd gen line link which I think was created in the late 80s to early 90s (not certain about these dates though)

The 1st gen 15mm Renaissance line (the ones that came in strips of five) was designated by the code 15R, for example: 15R3 Foot Arquebusiers. I think this range only existed for a short time in the mid to late 70s.

In 25mm, the current range (which people sometimes refer to as 2nd gen to differentiate it from the old 'S' range) has always had a designation starting with R. For example, RL1 Lansknecht Officer. link

In the past I would have agreed with you, but I have some of the Renaissance figures in their original packaging (the red, white and black bubble packs) that are marked R 106 Musketeers, R 108 Landsknecht Halbardiers, and R 149 Reiters, so they did originally use different codes. That's what I was looking for.

If they are in bubble packs they are figures that were produced under licence in the US. The codes on the packs follow a completely different system and I'm afraid I don't have a list for that. However, if you look on the tabs between the legs of the riders in the cavalry packs or on the bottom of the bases of the infantry figures you will find the original UK codes.

If you do manage to find the US codes I would love to have a copy. I buy a lot of figures on eBay and it would really help with identification if I could get hold of the US list.

Best wishes

Stephen
