I recently picked my syw project back up after 2 years or real life got in the way. Most inconsiderate that way, life. My next unit is Prussian Cuirassier. So I picked up my osprey and started reading. Hmmm tricky! Brain numbed I decided I better look at another guide. Partizan. Not much more use really. More an aide memoir to the person already knew the answer. Even the terms are a bit hard. Looked up shabraque, OK that's a horse blanket then. Sabretache I kind of knew. Handbag offsets your sabre nicely, sir. Eventually I took a look at kronoskaf. Ahah!! A picture even a tread head can understand. link Cursive R's Hmmmmm. They look hard. I guess a certain amount of artistic licence is necessary I'll be going round the twist. Any advice? |

Andy, what scale are you doing? Even in 28mm you can simplify the edging to the horse furniture and sabretache. Same with the regimental lace on the cuffs. The trumpeters, though, are another story- lots of lace, often gold or silver, coloured feather edging to the tricorne, trumpet banners, etc. Then there's kettle-drummers
.. Those "cursive R's" are actually monograms. Someone was talking about releasing them as decals (can't remember who that was) for 28mm. If that didn't happen, you can do your own:
The fill in the oval at the bottom of the crown is red, the rest either gold or silver, depending on the regiment. Cheers. Dal. |

@Dal I'm painting 28mm – Mindens. Yep. Decals ( or preferably rub down transfers ) would be brilliant. @Cardinal Okaydoke. Cheers. |

Well he has God on his side. Or is that he is on the side of God. God is always right anyhow. |

Steve at LBM has released transfers for the Prussian Hussars. A little trimming to fit may solve the issue until more are released. |

In the mean time, I've painted a unit. Ah well. Maybe for the next one. Cheers. |
