I finally got around to updating my Orbital Barrage blog with these figures from GFI/Minifigs.

Please take a look if so inclined.

Nice work on the models. Nice blog post too, cheers for that.

But the models themselves, what's to be said? Oh dear….

@porfirio, thanks.

I agree with the roughness of the figures, but since they were a free prize I won here on TMP for participating in the polls, I tried not to complain too much. grin

I thought those were from QRF.

@John Leahy, you know what? You're exactly right. They _are_ from QRF. Now how did I get that so wrong? I'll have to change that on my blog. Thanks for the correction!

@Grumpy Monkey, it's super simple:

1. Glue sand to the base.
2. Paint the whole base red (I used Apple Barrel red of some flavor).
3. Paint the edge black (I used Apple Barrel black).
4. Heavily dry-brush/wet-brush black over the red sand. Heavily. The more black the better, or it looks too red.
5. Normal dry-brush a medium grey over portions of the black.
6. Normal dry-brush a light grey over very select portions of the medium grey.

That's it!

I like them myself. There are nicer figures out there but the QRF sculpts are nice and they paint up very nicely. Very functional and inexpensive troops really. But you do wind up with a lot of extra figures though. Great job on painting thrm!

Its funny, I was expecting to see Khurasans Space demons, and exterminators, which are probably the best figs for this, however you have done a great job with these, thanks for the pics, I have never seen close up pics of this range before.
