From what I understand there were two cuff types of the Bardin uniform for Légère troops. One with a rectengular field with buttons (like there was for the Ligne) and one with a white line that formed a chevron where the rectanglar field would usually be. My question is
Did regiments use either one or the other or was it possible for some men within a regiment to wear one type while the rest wore the other type? If it is the former
does anyone by chance know what version was worn by the 37eme Légère at Leipzig? Thanks in advance, Burkhard |

the Bardin regulations specified pointed cuffs for all Legere troops. But supply was not an exact science, and the other model existed. Accordingly to mont saint jean dot com: link the non-official (rectangular) variant was probably rare in (by?) 1815. I'll try to dig into my Rousselot plates at the weekend if I don't forget :) |

There may not have been too many units in the Bardin uniforms at Leipzig, 1813. I have not seen an illustration of the Bardin uniform with the squared cuff with flap. I have seen red pointed cuffs edged white. The "standard" would be blue pointed cuffs edged white. Rousselot shows figures of the 12th Leger, served in Spain, in an earlier uniform, and the cornetist has the blue cuff with red flaps, both edged white. A chasseur wears red "Polish" pointed cuffs edged white. Both in the same regiment. By that was, was there really a 37th Leger? GdeP |
