Do you think that this will work for The Thing (from the movies)?

Why not? It could, after all, imitate a thousand lifeforms on a thousand other worlds…

I always thought that Gene-Stealer Hybrids would work. Especially if you kept changing out the model

Terrement, that's the "Large Abhor" from the Cobalt-1 range, made by Black Hat these days. The link in the first post should take you to the listing, but there appears to be a glitch. Try this one instead:

I always thought Ben Grimm looked more stone-like… Sorry, had to joke.

But more seriously, I think it would be a pretty decent mini for the purpose. Not perfect, but close enough for most.

Ah well the Thing did arrive on earth in a space ship. This guy would have a tough time with the task of piloting the craft. Just a minor point I realize.

It looks good, with the extra heads sprouting from it, but I've always thought of the thing as having a fondness for tentacles. Not sure why, but most of its forms in the original had masses of writhing bits. That said, there aren't nearly so many in the newer film, so on that front it's perfect.

There was a TMP Post with a link within the last two months of a guy that was doing Thing-like sculps. They looked great. Maybe Tango One posted it. Im not sure, but I think it was in the SF discussion forum.
