I posted a few pictures of my Königstiger on my blog:

One is from Wartanks, two Tamiya and one Hobby Master. There are also a few shots that should give you an idea how they compare to one another.

Cheers,

Burkhard

Thank you both!

The commander on the Wartanks is 28mm (VFM) the others are 1:48th scale (I can not remember the manufacturer though).

Cheers,

Burkhard

Nice!! 1/48th is my preferred scale for heavy tanks, they look more impressive on the table. Anyone have a good airbrushing tutorial they can share? I have 1/48th scale Maus from Gas.O.Line sitting on my workbench because my airbrushing skills suck, and I don't want to have to paint and repaint it to get it right!!

No, just plain.

.It was a 69,7 ton monster that actually had more similarities in design with the Panther rather than the Tiger

Exactly, I always thought they should've called it the 'King Panther.'

I have two of the Hobbymaster ones myself, one Henschel and one Porsche. I know only 50 Porsche turrets were made, but the 503rd heavy tank battalion one with zimmerit is my favorite.

The Henschel King Tigers from Hobbymaster are not bad, but did you notice that its muzzle brake is a bit smaller than the other companies' KT's?

THX guys!

@Tim: Well looking at photos of the real thing I feel that only the Tamiya is a good representation of the original. As you said the turret on the Wartanks one is quiet flat. And as 28mm fanatic pointed out the muzzel break on the Hobby Master is kind of small (plus the barrel is too thin, the upper hull too long and the slopeds too steep). But it does not really show unless they are all side by side, which rarely happens on (our) tabletop.

Cheers,

Burkhard
