Seriously. I am looking for Felids walking APC. Fenrir/Tamska is just too big. I wonder how many platoons of Okami I would have to buy to take onboard all my Felids

Getting them all on board, though
it's like herding cats. |
ski2060 | 01 Jul 2012 6:38 p.m. PST |
I honestly don't think they are big enough to fit 10 of the Khurasan Felid models in them. I just ordered 2 of the new Tamaska/Fenrir kits and will be glad to provide pics of them with some of my as yet unpainted Felids for a size comparison when they get in. |

I am curious as well. Was thinking they'd look good together. |
AVAMANGO | 01 Jul 2012 10:30 p.m. PST |
How about using the Thundercat Battle tank toy, with some extra detail and plastic sheeting stuck on it could be made into a very useful vehicle, i'm guessing that it might be a bit on the big side but still worth checking out though

Where do the dismount? Oooo yuk, don't worry. |
Gunner Dunbar | 02 Jul 2012 12:04 a.m. PST |
Instead of callying them a squad, you could call them a litter. |
arngrimson | 02 Jul 2012 1:44 a.m. PST |
It depends on how many felids you have. I have 6 of the CMG Okami walkers; they are a bit small for a squad carrier when compared to other squad sized (8-12) APC's/IFV's carriers. So depending on which rules you are using I'd class them as fireteam sized carriers (4-6 human sized figures) I use them in CMG own rules in which they carry 2 bases of Protolene Khanate infantry (8 figures). |
Umpapa | 02 Jul 2012 3:27 a.m. PST |
So Okami can be used to transport 8 figures squad? Thats OK, either. Just would need more Okamis. (My Felids are grouped in 8 kitties squad + 2 kitties AT-Rocket Mortar team.) Pics would be welcomed wholeheartedly. |

I need to paint figs get camera then maybe put 'em on show. The main body of the Okami is roughly:- top edge 50mm long (straight, not going with the curve.) Bottom edge 35mm long, width 20mm narrowing to 16mm? (rear exit ramp/door 11mm x 15mm), height 22mm at front down to 20mm at back. |
Umpapa | 02 Jul 2012 5:46 a.m. PST |
Wow, thanks pal. Thanks. Unpainted figs and Okami would be evenly appreciated
:) |

Hi Umpapa these pictures are abit rushed (as I am in the middle of sorting out mail order) but hopefully they will help you out
Hull from above.
Rear Ramp.
Kit Parts.
Hull next to Protolene Hunter Infantry Bases (The Okami can carry two of this in the Critical Mass Rules).

Shame there are so few four legged walker vehicles in 15mm scale. There are the CMG doggies but frankly find them a bit silly and the different parts look like they came from random other vehicles, particuarly that turret on top of the bigger one. GZG makes some nice legged vehicles but they're in the "generic simple human" pattern -- matching nicely with GZG's human-centric range but not really ideal for alien craft, a prime reason to use legged vehicles. Perhaps manufacturers don't bother because there are so many toys that can be used? |
Umpapa | 02 Jul 2012 7:57 a.m. PST |
Craig@CMG, Your kindness have just forced me to buy them. :) (BTW, have a lot of Your stuff, and love them. ARC Recon are my most favourite human high-tech force, sorry Jon & Jon. ;) If only CMG could produce anti-tank Naga team and truly Command Recon Set.) |

Shame there are so few four legged walker vehicles in 15mm scale. There are also relatively few iconic examples in SF. One of them (the AT-AT) would be a pretty big model even in 15mm. Two of the others are already "unseen" in another game and scale. That's two elephants and an amputee tarantula down. That leaves us with the Voltron Lions and the cartoon version of the Decepticon named Ravage. Both cats. |
AVAMANGO | 02 Jul 2012 10:56 p.m. PST |
Another idea might be to look at some CAV or other mecha ranges, take the CAV Simba from Reaper miniatures its a great looking quad mech and i have also been told its a 'BIG' miniature and dose not fit on a standard hex base so it might do as a ride for your Felids.

Those are all great ideas, thank You very much! |

I think yes! Just google some real-life APC pictures and you see, that you can get a lot more soldiers in a tank, than you can imagine. |

Are people not generally happy with the Lion? If not what would you like to see? |
Umpapa | 03 Jul 2012 1:20 p.m. PST |
Are people not generally happy with the Lion? If not what would you like to see? Lions are great hard sci-fi, intimidating vehicles, I like them. But: frankly I have my really old GZG wheeled battleforce, and do not need another one, at least for now. Also I just need something with more cool-factor and more similarity to Ayame Battlesuit (my Felid army mechanized force). Since I have seen more then several Felids army which included Ayame Battlesuits, I suppose I am not the only one. Jon, please forgive me boldness, if You could produce resin Felid-like head component, more or less compatible with Okami APC as well as other mechs, that would be fantastic. I would preorder such heads now, and could wait a year for them. I suppose CMG would love such idea. IMVVVHO there is no need to duplicate efforts on such a niche market, universe of sci-fi is too huge to compete. I admire the way Rebel Minis resign of making their own SpaceHind, after You have shown Khurasan design. Great example of cohabitation. We as fans would love some level of cooperation between producers, like uniformization of riders figures (so to be used on different producer jetbikes/alien steeds) or sitting driver figures. I know, dream on
:) Your Felid and Garn lover Umpapa |

The Lion is a great vehicle, I just ascribe too humanoid an appearance to it. I know there would be some overlap in technologies in a hard sci-fi world, but design aesthetics and form would probably be much different across races. The felids in my universe are a very aggressive force, and use vehicles built somewhat in their image for psychological intimidation. Hence the CMG vehicles standing in for my force. |
Ravenstar | 03 Jul 2012 2:22 p.m. PST |
The Lions a great model , but i think some of us really like mechs . I picked up few of the Okami APC and the larger Tamaska/Fenrir mech , ( a must to have) and i have been considering making a zoid like cat mech ,and even thought about kitbashing my Okami into one. If your looking for a head and i have no ideal weather they are the correct size , but look at the Puppets war bastet shoulder pads link and they have these link I dont have any of these so if someone does and happens to have a Okami , it would be cool to see them together in a shot.LOL |
Ravenstar | 03 Jul 2012 2:37 p.m. PST |
of course you make it as though your Felids captured a Okami walker and dressed up to fit thier race. :) |

Gee, thanks Chris. |
Ravenstar | 03 Jul 2012 3:10 p.m. PST |
I think there should be many many armys of Felids out here , One of very favorite lines of minis. :) |
Farstar | 03 Jul 2012 3:43 p.m. PST |
If someone wants to try working from a Jinbahei from Panzer World Galient
link I would certainly try to afford one. Seems a little high off the ground to use as a transport, though. |
badger22 | 03 Jul 2012 6:11 p.m. PST |
I am also looking at walkers as the felid armor. I have enough wheel armys. Love the grav bikes though. More like that, or a feloid walker And I would snap them up. In fact just sent you an order, and would have included walkers for the kittys., or a grav something else. Probably more bikes once the ones I ordered last week get here ND i FIGURE OUT WHAT i AM GOING TO DO WITH THEM ALL. Owen |
khurasanminiatures | 03 Jul 2012 7:27 p.m. PST |
Looks like I have to make some felid walkers. Maybe a mini-mech and a walking combat transport. Actually makes some sense, as the expansion of the Carnivoran Hegemony already has one animal-shaped vehicle -- the enormous GAU. |
ski2060 | 03 Jul 2012 7:51 p.m. PST |
Well, I'd love to expand my fledgling felid force in the future with whatever you come up with. Everything else I've bought from you has been just superb. |
Umpapa | 04 Jul 2012 1:51 a.m. PST |
Whatever you create for Felids, we will buy. Especially walking mechs. I would love possibility to buy separate "heads" set (x6 or x9), though. Just do not forget about lasergun fangs, window eyes and radar dish ears. ;) |
steve atkinson | 04 Jul 2012 1:59 a.m. PST |
I agree with all said , the Felids could do with heavy mech support both combat and transport to shoot them in . Steve . |
badger22 | 04 Jul 2012 5:34 p.m. PST |
I dont know if I dislike the Lion so much as it just doesnt jump out and yell felids to me. More like it is a big chunky wheel thing, and the felids seem in general to be about fast and agile. Real walkers of course would most likely be very clunky if you could get them to work, but that is where the fiction part comes in and most of us seem to see them as more agile than wheels, just slower. But then I mix a lot of companys stuff together. I just reliazed a day or so ago that some of your human infantry was just what I was looking for to go with a bunch of my combat wombat vehicles. Again, nothing wrong with the vehicles that go with them, just not what I was looking for. At the moment I am using a couple of Blue Moon walkers for my felids. But none of them look good for APC use which I am still lacking. well lacking a lot of things as I eventualy plan on a full company sized force on the table, so lots more kittys to get. Oh and while I am natteringg on, so Felid heavy weapons teams would be very cool. Something like SHMG or something like that. I know we always want more

I agree, the lion looks like a nice vehicle kit, but I find human-loooking designs a bit boring for my alien army. I use a mixture of Khurasan and CMG stuff too. I would love to see Khurasan create a nice Felid vehicle or mech. @Mr. Khurasan, your own Aranae APC and Felid jetbikes are good examples of a design that strikes you as "alien" and not human-design, but still looking "realistic". |
Umpapa | 06 Jul 2012 3:14 a.m. PST |
Lion also would suit superbly to swampy planet, with vast savanna seasonely flooded, or with high grass. Flat roof would then work as a deck for "boat". Feels amphibious. |
Farstar | 06 Jul 2012 10:03 a.m. PST |
I dont know if I dislike the Lion so much as it just doesnt jump out and yell felids to me. I have to agree here, and unfortunately I can't describe what *would* yell "Felids!" to me. The gravbikes are neat, but that way lies the Thundertank, and madness. It may be that the felids need another vehicle, stylistically between the Lion and the bikes. As it is now we can't see the continuum of design, just two extremes. -- Just spit-balling here: A jeep- or HMMV-scale grav vehicle, open-topped, with visible Felid crew. Body shape is similar to the Lion with the under-beveling and mostly boxy shape, but with a hint of the bikes "game face" on the hood and headlights. Just enough cargo/seated bed space to haul one squad in the open. |
Umpapa | 15 Jul 2012 2:56 p.m. PST |
Okami have arrived last week and I have to admit that they are GREAT models. Answering my own question: as an reserve medical officer of armored division I believe it could transport ten people/Felids and one pilot, relatively comfortable. So YES, CMG Okami can carry 10 Felids. I will wait for Khurasan Felid mech heads, if Jon will respond positively. BTW, does anyone has tried to build them on transparent bases, by removing those hexagonal resin bases under all feet?
