I am painting up some Australian armored units. What are their colors for their tanks and the Bushmaster? Which Vallejo paints would match the closest?

Thanks!

You won't go wrong with tan, olive and black for all vehicles. Originally the Abrahms were left in US desert sand colour but googling now shows many in tan, olive and black. Now, depending on conditions etc, there is a wide variety of colour fade and dust … I would suggest a variety of the basic colours to reflect this.

Note that the M113AS has an extra set of road wheels.

Have a great day, Frank

G'day cfielitz.

The colours you want are Light Tan (FS 30219- Vallejo US Tan Earth), Flat Black (FS 37038- Vallejo Matt Black) and Olive Drab Lustreless (as an Australian-made colour, this doesn't have an FS number and there's no Vallejo equivalent that I'm aware of). The colour is available through White Ensign Models, though- see AR OZ 01 at link . It's "full scale" colour, so you may want to lighten it with some light grey, especially if you're using microarmour.

Cheers.

Dal.

Thanks all for your help. I'll try to match up the Olive Drab Lusterless the best I can.
