I'm looking for a couple of 1880's (up through 1900?) Firemen (The kind that puts out fires, not stokes the fire on a train) that could be used in a wild west game. Something in the (28mm – 1/43rd – O scale) miniature size. I had picked up a pre-painted, plastic and metal, late 1800's horse drawn pumper at a thrift store and now need some men to join the department. (Plus, I'll have to build a Fire Station/barn for it now.) I thought for sure I'd find some O-scale ones, but tired of looking. Worse case scenario, I man the department with all volunteers and no uniform. Any suggestions? What about a 28mm ACW miniature/officer in a fireman's shirt, and do a custom firehat for him? I could always add an axe, hose, or horn into his hand. Any suggestions? (Do you think ACW artillery crewmen in shirts/suspenders would work with a custom firehat added? Plus they already have buckets and can customize thier tools
axes and hoses instead of rammers and sponges?) Thanks. David G. gamerarchitect.blogspot.com |

ditto on the Brigade games figs. Very nice. I have 5 squads of them, working on a game based on the Chicago Fire. These figs are intended for the Gangs of New York episode, so 1860's but I found no difference in style for most of the rest of the century. I kept mine as is, but lots of customization options possible. |
