Great link. Glad to see a book being released with the new location info! I have had the troops in 28mm at 1:20 set aside for this battle for over a year but have held off because of the quandry over the correct location. This book may solve that problem once and for all.

Very interesting. A slight height can be a real tactical advantage.

As I mention in the blog, the full academic discussion is still pending the publication by Foard and Curry next year – but Mike has been through all the evidence and his interpretation is based on the agreed new identification of where the battle was fought.

I have no idea if his orientation and positioning will exactly match Glenn's, but it is a very convincing fit to most of the evidence. It certainly makes sense from a wargamer's perspective (you know … the old 'how am I going to make that work in my game …' type stuff …)…

Man, what a great read! Finished the e-version in 1 night. Of GREAT value to wargamers.

Now, I am still waiting for the final proof that Hastings was fought on Caldbec hill instead the traditional "Senlac" ridge….

Yes I have that Bosworth book, and I recommend it. Nicely balanced content and a very easy to read style.
