I was thinking of getting into some space action. I have FT and USEME rules.

Are the various and many ships available from Shapeways any good?
How do they compare with metal ships?
Many seem, on the face of it to look very nice indeed.

Any help appreciated.
Cheers.

Hello Republic.

I've been experimenting with Shapeways a bit recently. I did a shortish blog post on it here:

Cheers Goober.

I feel I have been convinced it is worth a punt. Maybe one small fleet to start… well that's what I tell myself. Along with some nice 15mm ships interior parts, this could mount up!

There is a section of the Starship Combat News Forum specifically for print on demand minis, mainly Shapeways including a listing of most Shapeways stores that do have starship minis available and lots of discussion on what is out there and also what people would like next.

Star Ranger's forum has a section on "print on demand" minis. Great place to find what's available and user experiences.
