"…I was inspired by Wojciecha Kossak's painting "Olszynka grochowska" presenting one of battles from November Uprising period which was taking place on 24-25 February 1831. I presented hire some photos of this painting
and sketches made by W. Kossak.
As you can see the painter creater very realistic vision of soliders: some of them are wearing bandages, one has just got shot!
In reality during that battle about 8.000 polish soliders gathered in small wood were repulsing all day long atacks of russian troops: over 45.000 infantry and about 13.000cavalry…"

Very interesting figures.
