Apart from Victoria Lamb's Imperial Guard bits, has anyone seen sci-fi soldiers in kilts, or who look like they could be the descendants of Scottish regiments? |

Just hang a kilt on power armor. Green Stuff! |

But if you have power armour, would anything be worn under the kilt? |

The Infinity faction called Ariadna are the only others I've ever seen. Capt-- nothing it's all in perfect working order! |

A little work on MicroPanzer's SAS troops might work. Were you thinking of thematically Scottish with SF Claymores and bagpipes, or just a bit of colorful kit? I think the Warzone line may have had a unit identified as such, but those aren't 15mm. A kilt also found its way into use with Traveller's Imperial Marines in power armor ("Battledress") in some editions, as it simplifies the armor arrangements around the hips. |

Infinity:
The also did several other troops, though the armored guys typically wear a tartan 'muffler' more than a proper kilt. link But if you want to make a Highlander-themed Imperial Guard army, with a bajillion infantry, I'd sculpt and cast. |

Wasn't there a kilt wearing faction in Mutant Chronicles? |

The Imperials had a "Celtic" group called Wolfbanes or WolfBairns
but as I recall, the larger portion of the figures didn't actually wear kilts. Short of the big swords and all the woad painted on them, there wasn't too much in the way of kiltworthiness. |

It wasn't for Guard, but for smaller games like Tomorrow's War, and I was wondering whether I was going to have to mash up Romans and UAMC or something if I took the project forward. Cheers for the link guys! Those Caledonian guys look really cool. I wouldn't be upset by bagpipes etc, this was quite an idle query tbh – the lead mountain stands between me and it at present! |

"has anyone seen sci-fi soldiers in kilts, or who look like they could be the descendants of Scottish regiments?" Yeah, but they are a bit mechanical in their ways:

There are plenty of defining military styles that would suggest a Scottish heritage without going for a kilt. Personally, even though I'm Scottish, I don't really like kilts, and can't see any practical reason why it would be worn by a Scottish soldier in the future. It may be better to look at headwear as something to suggest their Scottishness. |

The Dune TV series. No kilts, but perhaps a suggestion of heritage. link |

@Dan "Yeah, but they are a bit mechanical in their ways" That should be MacHanical. |

True, Tam o'Shanters rather than berets would probably be more realistic. I just had this weird vision out of nowhere as I was walking home the other day. |

The Dune TV series. No kilts, but perhaps a suggestion of heritage. No kilts, instead, giant, ridiculous hats. |

I've only seen them as 28mm At prince August for the Warzone figures in their Imperial Army line. 8) |

Oh yeah, Wolfbairns, right? |
